Joy is a material. I mean that literally: citrus oil on voile, saffron silk against a skim-milk sky, a grass-seed stuck to a kite string as if it had been invited. I look up more than I look in. Kites, tails, the small writing wind makes when nobody is directing it. I want a picture you could wear on a warm day — not as clothing, as weather. If it is not luminous, it is not finished.
